Hi, I'm Tamatha.
I live on a 4 acre homestead in southern Virginia. I grew up in NYC in the 70's dreaming of life in the country. I was that weird kid that would ask all the other kids what they had for dinner. I would rush home from school to catch the Frugal Gourmet on television. I got my first cookbook when I was 12. I drove my Mom crazy with my pleading. She surprised me with a trip to Barnes and Noble to select that book. I still have it! If I had any sense I would have chosen the Frugal Gourmet cookbook. I have no idea why I didn't. Maybe I was overwhelmed by the selection. I made up for that error, I have a massive cookbook library complete with every book the Frugal gourmet ever wrote. I later found out he was not a good guy, was in big trouble and was fired from television. I was shocked! A few years later I found Martha Stewart and never looked back. From Martha I learned that home was not the same as house. I spent many many hours dreaming of feathering my country nest. Hunting for vintage finds, growing a serious garden, setting a glorious table, having chickens and the best part, a well equipped kitchen where I can cook and bake to my hearts content. It was NOT easy getting here. Finally, we have this place. It's on 4 acres, it was neglected and bland. Breathing life into this place will be quite an adventure!
